: All experimental procedures were conducted in accordance with ethical standards for the care and use of laboratory animals. Ethical approval for the use of Cyprinus carpio in this study was obtained from the Ethics Committee of the Experimental Animal Production and Research Center, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Selçuk University (Approval Code: 2014/014; Approval Date: 25.03.2014). This committee is an officially authorized institution for evaluating and approving experimental protocols involving animals in Turkey. Although the authors are affiliated with a different institution, the Selcuk University Ethics Committee is an officially authorized body for the evaluation and approval of experimental protocols involving animals, and the study was conducted in compliance with its regulations. The experiment procedures were performed per the instructions of the Experimental Animal Production and Research Center of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine after receiving the ethics committee approval. Since the animals used in this study are not owned, there is no need to obtain informed consent from individual animal owners.
