: Dog fecal sample collection, processing, and laboratory investigations were performed in accordance with the guidelines and regulations of the ALIPB at Addis Ababa University and were approved by the university. This study was reviewed by the review committee of the Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority (EWCA), which granted ethics approval prior to commencement on the basis of ethics and research guidelines. Dog fecal samples were collected from the ground immediately after defecation, with the consent of the dog owners. All research methods were performed in line with the International Council for Laboratory Animal Science (ICLAS) Ethical Guidelines for Researchers.
