: Ethics approval was obtained from the Vector Control Division Research and Ethics Committee at Ministry of Health (reference VCDREC131) and the Uganda National Council of Science and Technology (UNCST) (registration number A107ES). Administrative clearances were obtained from both Dokolo and Kaberamaido districts after explaining the study to the district veterinary officials. All participating farmers were taken through an informed consent process that was administered in their respective local languages. All participating farmers signed an informed consent form to participate in this study.
