: The study received approval from the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Assiut University, Egypt (Approval No. 06/2024/0199). All fish were euthanized using humane procedures in accordance with established guidelines, and sampling from the farms was carried out with prior authorization, following ARRIVE standards and applicable animal welfare regulations ( ). This workflow integrated careful movement from fish farms, optimized tank conditions, accurate anesthetic dosing, and attentive handling, ensuring proper sampling while fully complying with international ethical guidelines for euthanasia of fish. Written informed consent was obtained from the owners of fish farms for the participation of their animals in this study.
