:
: The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania enacted the Law on Hunting (No. IX-966, dated June 20, 2002), which permits the year-round hunting of raccoons in Lithuania. Ethical approval and additional permits were not required, as the animals were obtained in accordance with local legislation and institutional guidelines. The raccoons had been legally hunted and were collected in collaboration with the Kaunas Tadas Ivanauskas Zoology Museum, the Lithuanian national authority responsible for the handling of deceased animals. No raccoons were killed specifically for the purposes of this study.
