: The collection, storage, and processing of questionnaire data were conducted in accordance with the German data protection laws, which correspond to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR). After clicking on the link, prospective participants were provided with information regarding the objective of the study and issues of data protection on the first page of the online questionnaire. Informed consent had to be given actively before the survey could be started. Participation was voluntary, and the survey could be terminated at any point. The collection of data was anonymous, and no personal or other sensitive data were collected. The stipulated regulations and requirements of the data collection platform Unipark (including the nonstorage of IP addresses and cookies) have been followed. Furthermore, the university’s guidelines concerning the collection, distribution and evaluation of data have been observed. According to German legislation, the execution of the study we performed—questionnaire surveys evaluating anonymized data (“Fragebogen-Studie mit anonymen Daten”)—does not require ethical approval (“Beratungspflicht”) ( ).
