Ethics approval and consent to participate

: Overarching ethical approval was obtained from the Health Research Authority (HRA) NRes Committee East of England (Norfolk) Research Ethics Committee (Ref: 15/EE/1066). In addition, each corresponding clinical site obtained separate collaborative ethical approval via local biobanks (Prostate Biobank Oslo/Oslo University Hospital, Wales Cancer Bank/Cardiff University, Irish Prostate Cancer Research Consortium Biobank/University College Dublin and Northern Ireland Biobank (Queen’s University Belfast/Belfast Health and Social Care Trust). The need for consent was waived due to the retrospective nature of the study and the limited impact and risk deemed to subjects by conducting this study.
