The need for informed consent to participate was waived by the Institutional Review Board (IRB)/ethic committee of the Medical Faculty at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich because all data used in the study are anonymized (all personally identifying information within a database that could be used for backtracking to a patient were removed). DNA samples for WES were extracted from post-mortem liver and/or heart tissue. Due to anonymization, co-segregation analyses of the variants were not performed.
