Our research involved secondary data analysis from ARIC, which was approved by the Social & Behavioral Institutional Review Board at Morehouse School of Medicine. The need for consent was waived because all ARIC data were de-identified. Dr. Dale Hardy acquired administrative permissions to access the genetic/phenotypic participant data from Dr. Anne Sturcke, a representative of NCBI, dbGap.
