: This study was approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the American University of Beirut (AUB) that is compliant with the Helsinki Declaration, and builds on a previously described cohort that was recruited during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic to examine the effect of the ACE1 I/D polymorphism on COVID-19 susceptibility, severity and prognosis.
