: All the iPSCs lines were generated at Taipei Veterans General Hospital and Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Academia Sinica supported by Taiwan Human Disease iPSC Service Consortium. The generation of iPSCs from skin fibroblasts of MERRF patients was approved by the by Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Mackay Memorial Hospital, Mackay Medical College, and Taipei Veterans General Hospital, respectively. For this study, the IRB waived the informed consent requirement for the use of these iPSC cell lines.
