: The study and experimentation in human control lung tissue were approved by the local Bernese Ethics Commission Bern, Switzerland (approval number: KEK-BE_2024 − 01841). IPF lung tissue collection was approved by the local ethics committee at Hanover Medical School, Germany (8867_BO_K_2020). Human samples were collected and handle in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki, and donors were informed prior to recruitment, and signed a written consent form.
