: The need for signed consent by patients for inclusion in Swedish quality registries is waived. Upon hospital admission, patients with MI are informed verbally and in writing by a nurse or physician about SWEDEHEART and their unrestricted ability to opt out of the registry at any time (extremely rare, 0–5 individuals/year). The study complied with the Helsinki Declaration and was reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committee at Lund University (2018-55).
