Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethical approval for this study was provided by the Solomon Islands Research Ethics Review, Ministry of Health & Medical Services (No: HRE064/17) and the Human Research Ethics Committee of James Cook University (Application ID: H7214). Administrative permissions were obtained from the Directors of Honoria, Malaita and Guadalcanal Provincial Health Services. The interviewer explained the general-purpose, benefits and any risks of the survey to each respondent. All study participants provided a signed consent form before the interview. Respondents had the right to refuse participation in the survey at any point. Confidentiality and anonymity were maintained at all times during the conduct of the interviews.
