: Ethical approval was obtained from the School of Medicine Research and Ethics Committee (SOMREC) of Makerere University College of Health Sciences (IRB No. 2020–014). Permission to collect data was obtained from Abim and Kaabong district local governments, through the offices of the District Health Officer (DHO) and hospital administrations. All study participants provided written informed consent before enrolment. All study staff received training on procedures for maintaining confidentiality. In instances of errors, consultations were made with the managing health workers and errors rectified.
