: The Research Ethics Committee of Kano state Ministry of Health granted ethical approval for the study (reference number: SHREC/2021/2815). The study was conducted using standard ethical guidelines and all participants were assured of the confidentiality of their responses. Written informed consent was secured from each participant before the start of each interview. Copies of the signed consent forms are stored in a locked cabinet in Malaria Consortium Country office in Abuja.
