: The study will be conducted in compliance with the ethical principles of health research and good clinical practice. The study protocol was submitted to the institutional ethics committee of the Institut National de Santé Publique (INSP) and a favourable opinion was obtained under number 2023–001/MSHP/SG/INSP/CEI dated 31 January 2023. Furthermore, the project underwent yearly evaluations to guarantee adherence to the prescribed methodologies outlined in the protocol. Prior to the community entry, meetings will be scheduled with the village leaders, their councils, relevant authorities, and heads of households. Researchers will present the project, themselves, give information on the people that will carry out the activities, and acquire local approval. In quantitative data collection procedures, participants will be notified that their involvement is voluntary, and they will have the right to refuse any questions they find uncomfortable. They will also have the option to withdraw from the study at any time with no need to provide a reason and no adverse effects on them or their families individual informed consent is also requested from participants in IDIs and FGDs related to the qualitative data collection. Consent will be requested from the heads of households for all activities.
