: The study was approved by the Institutional Review Committee of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Bahir Dar University. A support letter was obtained from the Amhara Public Health Institute, and a permission letter was obtained from each health center authority. Written informed consent or assent was obtained from study participants and guardians in case of children aged below 18. All study participants who were positive for malaria or other hemo-parasites were linked to health facilities for appropriate treatment.
