: The study was granted ethical clearance by the Navrongo Health Research Centre Institutional Review Board with an approval ID NHRCIRB619. Before data collection, formal permission to conduct the study was granted by the Nandom Municipal Health Directorate and the Medical Director of St Theresa’s Hospital, Nandom. Caregivers agreed to participate by signing or thumbprinting the informed consent forms to volunteer their participation together with their children. The study was conducted in line with all protocols for human subjects as outlined in the Helsinki Declaration of the World Medical Association.
