: Infection experiments and other procedures were reviewed and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, Vilnius, Lithuania (ref. no. 2023-03-15, Nr. SR-197; 2024-03-20, Nr. SR 273) and Lithuanian State Food and Veterinary Service (ref. 2023-02-02, Nr. G2-235). Animals were kept at the State Scientific Research Institute Nature Research Centre vivarium (license no. LT-61-13-003) under standard living conditions for birds.
