: Ethical clearance was obtained from the Ethical Review Committee of Science College, Bahir Dar University (Ref. No. PRCSVD/139/2016 E.C.). After explaining the purpose of the study, an official permission letter was secured from the Medical Director of Gissa Health Center to conduct the study. The purpose of the study was clearly explained to all febrile patients, and their voluntary participation was requested. Written informed consent was collected from each study participants, or parents/guardians for participants under the age of 18 years of age. Participants were informed that they had the right to withdraw from the study at any without losing their benefit from the health center. In addition, all malaria positive subjects were advised to receive appropriate treatment at the health center using their family health insurance. Every response of the study participant was handled confidentially and anonymously.
