Ethics approval and consent to participate: The histological images presented in Fig. 1 were generated from placental tissue obtained as part of a previously published study approved by the Institutional Review Board of the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (IRB# 00001276) and the Ethics Review Committee of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH/MD/G3/17). No new human participants were recruited for this work, and all procedures in the original study were conducted in accordance with relevant ethical guidelines and regulations.
