Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethical approval was obtained from the Makerere University School of Public Health Research and Ethics Committee (MakSPH HDREC) and the Uganda National Council of Science and Technology (UNCST), study number SS 4323. Written informed consent was obtained from all the key informants, while verbal informed consent was obtained from the FGD participants. Permission to carry out the research was further sought from the Kibuku District Health Office.
: Consent to publish the findings of the study was obtained at the point of seeking consent to participate. The participants’ confidentiality and anonymity while reporting was assured with only investigators and the research team having access to the transcripts.
