Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Participation in the Mayi Kuwayu Study was voluntary and with informed consent. The Mayi Kuwayu Study is Aboriginal-led and governed, and conducted with ethics approvals from national, State and Territory Human Research Ethics Committees (HRECs) and from relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations []. This validation study was conducted under The Australian National University HREC protocol 2016/767, and in accordance with the operational research policies of the Mayi Kuwayu Study Data Governance Committee. Early results and future directions were discussed with the <i>Thiitu Tharrmay</i> Research Reference Group. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples were involved in every stage of the current study, from the development of the measures, the analysis, interpretation, and write up of results.
