: The ethical procedures of this study follow the precepts of the Declaration of Helsinki, in addition to the mandatory requirements of Brazilian legislation on ethics in research with indigenous peoples in the national territory. It is important to note that Brazilian standards expand the Helsinki requirements. The investigation followed all ethical precepts required by Brazilian Resolution number 466, of December 12, 2012, of the National Research Ethics Commission – CONEP, for research with human beings, and Resolution number 304, from 2000, for research with indigenous peoples in Brazil. Thus, the study was approved by CONEP (approval number 40372614.2000.5404) and by the National Indigenous Peoples Foundation (FUNAI) (approval number 08620.0678142014–42) in 2015.
