: Ethical approval for the household survey had been granted by the Helsinki Committee of the Palestinian Health Research Council in the Gaza Strip (Date: 06.06.2022, number: PHRC/HC/1141/22), the Ethikkommission Nordwest- und Zentralschweiz in Switzerland (Date: 09.01.2023, statement ID: AO_2022-00076) and the ICRC internal ethics review board (Date: 26.01.2023, proposal number: 2301_JAN, and validation reference LDPCORE 23/00006-CGB/bap). The Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Health in Gaza also reviewed and approved the survey tools and the full study protocol. Two female field workers from the same team as in the 2020 survey visited each household. Having female interviewers allowed female participants to feel more comfortable, as they could remain without a headscarf in their homes. Before taking part in the study, all participants were required to sign a formal informed consent form.
