Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Harmonized research ethics approval was obtained from the Interior Health and University of British Columbia Ethics Review boards (Board of Record Approval Reference #: 2016-17-060-I). Consent to participate in the research study was sought from each participant who expressed interest in fentanyl urine checking. Consent to participate was be obtained verbally. Using a consent script (see supporting documents), staff explained the risks and benefits of the study (see Additional file InternalRef removed).
