: All animal experiments were conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Portuguese national authority for animal experimentation, Direcção Geral de Veterinária. Animals were kept and handled according to the guidelines for the care and handling of laboratory animals in the Directive 2010/63/EU of the European Parliament and Council.
