: All studies involving human immune cells were performed in agreement with the guidelines of the World Medical Association’s Declaration of Helsinki. Anonymous blood cells discarded after plasmapheresis (buffy coats), used for the isolation of PBMCs and provided by the Blood Bank Salzburg (Austria), were handled according to the national regulations in Austria, which do not request informed consent in this case, thus no additional approval by the local ethics committee was required.
