Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Participants consent to participate in survey-based research when they sign-up for the panel from which the sample was drawn. Subsequently, participants passively consented to participate when they agreed to complete the survey. This secondary data analysis was approved by the University of British Columbia’s Research Ethics Board (#H20–01371).

: SAM, MB, RM have no conflicts of interest to declare. GF, RER, LJF, NO, JCS, and MST are members of the ParticipACTION Research Advisory Group (RAG). The RAG provides advice to ParticipACTION about the direction that should be pursued with respect to its research, evaluation, and knowledge translation.
