: All necessary approvals were obtained before the start of data collections, including written informed consents from all participants and their primary guardians (PANCS1 & 2). The Regional Committee for Medical Research Ethics approved PANCS1 (REK Sør: S-04305) but found PANCS2 and PANCS follow-up outside the Norwegian Health Research Act’s scope. The Norwegian Social Science Data Services approved the processing of personal data in all three studies (ref. numbers 12166, 25870 and 276580). The PANCS follow-up study was additionally approved by the Internal Ethics Committee at the Norwegian School of Sports Sciences (ref. number 73-300818). All studies were carried out in concordance with the declaration of Helsinki.
