: The animal procedures in the present study have been approved by the Ethics Committee of Yueyang Clinical Medicine School of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and animal Care and Ethics Committee at the EYE & ENT Hospital of Fudan University. Retinas and sclera were obtained from the eyeballs of normal adult and highly myopic adult donors with the approval of the institutional Review Board of Fudan University and followed the tenets of the Declaration of Helsinki guidelines.
