: All of the animal experiments were performed in accordance with the guidelines formulated by the European Community for the Use of Experimental Animals (L358-86/609/EEC) and the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals published by the US National Institute of Health (NIH Publication No. 85–23, revised 1985). All of the procedures were approved by the Local Ethics Committee on Animal Experiments at the Medical University in Lodz (approval number: 38/Ł 241/2022). PMP were obtained from platelet concentrates purchased from the Regional Centre of Blood Donation and Blood Treatment in Łódź in accordance with applicable law. In accordance with applicable law, the purchase did not require the approval of an ethics committee.
: The maximal tumour size in mice permitted by the ethics committee in Poland is 12 mm. This scenario applies only to animal models in which cancer cells are subcutaneously injected. In the case of tumour induction via the injection of cancer cells into the organs of mouse (intrabody injections ) there are no specific guidelines for tumour size provided by the ethics committee in Poland. In the present study, we performed intrasplenic (intraorgan ) injections of cancer cells into immunodeficient mice. Regardless, in our study the maximum tumour size did not exceed the guidelines for subcutaneously induced tumours.
