: The study has the allowance to conduct animal experiments according to § 4 2023/256 of the German animal welfare law. All animal experiments were approved and permitted by the Lower Saxony State Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (LAVES - § 7 20/3582). The UCB of full-term healthy human neonates was collected after birth with informed consent in accordance with the stipulations set forth by MHH’s internal Ethics Commission as well as the World Medical Association’s (WMA) Helsinki Declaration of 1964, updated for the eighth time in 2008. The study has approval from the ethics commission of MHH to use the cells for the described purposes (approval #2791 − 2015).
