: Animal experiments were conducted in accordance with the ethical standards of Greece and the EU guidelines. All mice were bred and maintained at the Animal Facility of the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (BRFAA), Athens, Greece, under optimal conditions previously described in detail [ ]. The study protocol was approved by the Department of Agriculture and Veterinary Service of the Prefecture of Athens (approval number: 497344/01-06-2022). Human peripheral blood sampling was performed following the informed consent of the donors, according to the regulations approved by the 2nd Peripheral Blood Transfusion Unit and Hemorophilic Centre of the “Laikon” General Hospital Institutional Review Board, Athens, Greece.
