Ethics approval and consent to participate: This study collected clinical hepatocellular carcinoma and paired peritumoral tissue specimens from surgical patients. The specimen collection protocol was reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committee of The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University (Approval No. 2022-KY-1519-002). Written informed consent was obtained from all enrolled patients before specimen collection. All procedures involving human clinical samples were performed in strict accordance with the ethical principles stated in the Declaration of Helsinki. All procedures were approved by Zhengzhou University’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC Approval No [ZZU-LAC2025041516]) and conducted in strict accordance with ARRIVE guidelines 2.0.
