: The present study was performed in accordance with the latest version of the Declaration of Helsinki after review by the Human Research Ethics Committee at the University of New South Wales (UNSW; HREC #12435) and the latest version of the SMRI ethics (ExternalRef removed). Human tissues were received from the New South Wales Brain Tissue Resource Centre (TRC) at the University of Sydney (which is supported by the University of Sydney and The Schizophrenia Research Institute) and the Stanley Medical Research Institute (SMRI). TRC specimens were collected as part of the “Using our Brains” donor program established in 2002 as a pre-mortem consent program. SMRI specimens were collected with informed consent from next-of-kin between September 1993 and June 2005. All animal experimental procedures were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of Astellas Pharma Inc. (Ibaraki, Japan), which has been awarded Accreditation Status by the Association of Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International.
