Ethics approval and consent to participate
: This study was performed in line with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. The brain donation protocols at the Queen Square Brain Bank for Neurological Disorders (QSBB) and the MRC London Neurodegenerative Diseases Brain Bank, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London were approved by London Research Ethics Committees. Ethical approval for this study was provided by the NHS Health Research Authority and the Local Research Ethics Committee of the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Tissue was stored for research purposes under a license from the Human Tissue Authority. Written informed consent was obtained from all individual participants included in the study.
