: The study was conducted in compliance with European Union Directive 2010/63/EU on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes. All the protocols for animal experimentation were approved by the Animal Welfare Committee at the Instituto de Neurociencias, the CSIC Ethical Committee, and the Dirección General de Agricultura, Ganadería y Pesca of Generalitat Valenciana. Mice were maintained under specific pathogen-free (SPF) conditions at the Animal Facility of the Instituto de Neurociencias (CSIC-UMH), on a 12 h light/12 h dark cycle (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.), at 20–24 °C and 40–60% controlled humidity, with ad libitum access to food and water.
