: This project was approved by the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) in Tanzania as one activity among a larger set of activities for theProject to Reduce Maternal Deaths in Tanzania. It was also reviewed in accordance with CDC human subjects protection policy and was determined to be non-research. Verbal consent was obtained from all respondents prior to participation. Providers and postpartum women completed the interviews voluntarily.
