: The protocol for the EDHS was approved by the Ethiopian Health and Nutrition Research Institute (EHNRI) Review Board, the National Research Ethics Review Committee (NRERC) at the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Ministry of Science and Technology, the ICF Macro Institutional Review Board, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). As indicated in the EDHS 2016 publications, written consent for participation was obtained from each respondent. Though the dataset of the EDHS is not available as a public domain survey dataset, after developing protocol, the authors requested the data by registration on the MEASURE DHS website at: ExternalRef removed. Finally, access to use the data for this research was granted from the demographic and health survey program team.
