: Ethical clearance for this study was obtained from the Institutional Review Board of Ambo University College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Ethiopia (Ref. No. AU/PGC/598/2015).Written informed consent was obtained from all study participants after the purpose of the study was explained. Participation in the study was voluntary, and withdrawal was possible at any time. Confidentiality was maintained by omitting the names of study participants and keeping the question in a locked cabinet. Those women identified with antenatal depression were linked to mental health clinics or hospitals for further care.
