Ethics approval and consent to participate
: We obtained ethical clearance for all SAGE-WOPS waves from the Uganda Virus Research Institute Research and Ethics Committee (GC/127/12/08/04 and from the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (HS 1241). Approval was also obtained from the WHO Ethical Review Committee (RPC-149). All study respondents gave a written/thumb printed consent after the study interviewers read for them an information sheet with details about the study.
