: The project protocol was submitted to the Health Research Ethics Committee of University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Enugu and the Research and Ethics Committee of Ebonyi State Ministry of Health. Ethical approval was secured from both committees before entry into the study site. Before each interview, written informed consent was obtained from study respondents. In addition to the informed consent from the school authorities, written informed consent was obtained from parents/guardians of adolescents aged 13 to 17, whereas adolescents aged 18 gave their own consent. Written informed assent was also obtained from adolescents aged 13 to 17.
