: We used secondary data from the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) which carried out the 2015 ZDHS survey. Therefore, this study did not require ethical approval since the data is available in the public domain upon request from the DHS measure program website (). The downloaded dataset is anonymised so that there are no individual identifiers reported in the data set.
