: This study was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki. The research study received ethical clearance from the Ethical Review Committee, Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka (Project No. ERC/FDS/UOP/2023/06). The WHOQOL Centre, WHO, Geneva granted permission (Permission ID: 336954) to translate and validate the WHOQOL-DIS module into Sinhala. Validation study was conducted as a part of dissertation evaluated at Master of Doctors (Community Dentistry) programme at the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo, Sri Lanka. All respondents provided informed written consent, acknowledging the study purpose and their rights, including confidentiality, anonymity, and the option to withdraw without explanation. Confidentiality was ensured through the use of assigned serial numbers and password protection on data sheets.
