: This study was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) National Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical and Health Research Involving Human Participants (2017). Ethical Approval for this research was obtained through two levels of institutional approval. The Ethical Approval for the study protocol, instruments, and consent process were reviewed and approved by the Departmental Ethical Committee, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, India under the approval number-No-NIT/HMR/HSS-1/2025/594. At the initial stage of the study, the Department did not have a formally constituted Institutional Ethics Committee/IRB. Therefore, prior to data collection, the research protocol was also reviewed and approved by the academic supervisor, who served as the competent institutional authority responsible for ethical oversight and approvals for all doctoral work of the candidates registered with them in PhD. Both the Departmental Ethical Committee (DEC) approval and the supervisor’s ethical approval letter have been provided in the Supplementary Files section as required by the journal. Also, the participants were informed about the purpose of the study, and electronic informed consent was obtained from all respondents prior to participation. Confidentiality, voluntary participation, and data protection standards were strictly followed in the present study. “I am a research scholar conducting a study to understand how engineering students in the Himalayan states in India perceive and experience the impacts of climate change in terms of Knowledge about the health risks, preparedness, and access to care. Your responses will help identify gaps in awareness, estimate the hidden costs of untreated health issues, and explore ways to improve climate-health education. This survey will take approximately 10–12 min to complete. Your participation is voluntary, and your responses will be kept confidential and used solely for academic research purposes. Please respond honestly based on your personal knowledge and experiences. You can withdraw anytime you want”. All participants provided informed consent prior to participation, and their confidentiality and anonymity were strictly maintained throughout the study.
