: The study protocol was approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of NT Health and Menzies School of Health Research (EC00153). This project was considered by the Menzies School of Health Research HREC including the Aboriginal Ethics Sub-Committee (AESC) and assessed against guidelines for human research including the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research 2007. The study was informed by ongoing consultation with an advisory group of young Aboriginal women through the Menzies–Ramaciotti Centre. This advisory group contributed to shaping aspects of the research design and interpretation to ensure cultural relevance and appropriateness. These processes align with NHMRC guidelines for ethical conduct in research with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, supporting respectful, culturally informed, and community-engaged research practices. The study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. Written informed consent was obtained from all individual participants prior to their inclusion in the study.
