: The study was carried out after obtaining approval from the Medical Research & Ethics Committee (MREC), Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH). The study approval number was NMRR ID-22-02678-6HG. Only patients who had consented to participate were monitored using the SMART AI Patient Sitter System. During the signing of consent, patients were informed that they would be monitored by AI and that a blurred video would appear at the monitoring counter when an alert was triggered. Patients who did not give consent were not checked into the system, and therefore, no monitoring was done for them. All investigators adhered to the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and the Malaysian Good Clinical Practice Guidelines during the conduct of this study.
