: Ethical clearance was obtained from Oxford Brookes University prior to commencing the data collection. The study was approved by the PNC community’s legal and internal authorities. Prior to arrival, preliminary consent was granted from the community president as a response to a letter of intent sent through NPC. Upon arrival, the study and its objectives were presented to the community assembly for final consent. It was made clear to the community that the study was not affiliated with any for-profit entity and was conducted in cooperation with Neotropical Primate Conservation, a non-profit that had previously worked with nearby communities. All communal and individual participation in the study was completely voluntary. The right to anonymity was made clear, and that data were collected purely for research purposes. No illegal activities were reported to the authorities, in order to remain impartial and strictly an observer. These terms were also explained individually to each participant prior to any interviews.
